  • To fulfill this purpose the department is equipped with highly qualified and experienced Faculty members as well as laboratory technicians.
  • For enhancement organizes technical seminars, study visit to the related industries, workshop, etc.
  • The department comprises of well equipped various laboratory such as Civil engineering lab, survey lab, CWP lab, Ph lab Project and model lab & CAD lab.
  • Our students have been placed in many international as well as reputed national companies like L&T, Megha Engineering & Infrastructure ltd, Everest Industries, T&AS Design tech, Ramco cements Limited, Royal Enfield, Sew Infrastructure etc.

Programme Outcomes:

Objective:
  • To determine compaction characteristics of a particular soil sample.
  • To determine the field density of soil by core cutter method.
  • To determine the particle size gradation of soil by sieve analysis method
  • Determination of atterbergs limits of a given soil sample.
  • To determine Los Abrasion in value of road aggregates.
  • To determine toughness value of aggregates
  • To determine the normal consistency of cement.
  • To determine setting times of cement
  • To determine the compressive strength of cement mortar
  • To determine the compressive strength of fly ash brick.
  • To determine bulking of sand
  • To determine the workability of concrete by slump cone method
  • To determine the compressive strength of concrete cube.
  • To determine the turbidity, ph value, sulphate, acidity, alkalinity, chloride content of a sample of water.
  • Determination of coagulant dose for a turbid water sample.
Outcomes:
  • To impart knowledge to students regarding importance of soil parameters.
  • To enable the students so that they can analyze the gradation of particles in a soil.
  • To determine the strength and stability of the road aggregate.
  • To understand various characteristics of a cement.
  • To measure the workability approach of a cement concrete.
  • To enable students to understand the slump values for various Engg. Projects.
  • To enrich the students about various physical and chemical properties of a water sample.

Construction Works Practice Lab

Objectives:
  • Lay out plan of building.
  • Construction of 1 & 11/2 brick thick walls in English bond by using cement mortar.
  • Construction of 1 & 11/2 brick thick pillar by using cement mortar.
  • Fabrication of timber or steel formwork for a slab, beam and column.
  • Bar bending and fabrication of reinforcement for a beam, slab and column.
  • Demonstration of various types of pipe joints.
Outcomes:
  • To give the students a brief idea about layout plan of a building.
  • To enable the student to prepare proper class of brick masonry work.
  • To enrich them in making the fabrication work for structural elements.

Survey Practice

Objectives:
  • Measurement of distance between two points with chain including direct ranging.
  • Measurement of distance by chaining across an obstacle on the chain line.
  • Temporary adjustment of a prismatic compass.
  • Measurement of bearings of lines and determination of included angles using prismatic compass.
  • Setting out of a closed traverse surveying in a given plot of area.
  • Setting up of plane table and plotting five points by radiation and inter section method.
  • Conducting plane table surveying in a given plot of area by traversing.
  • Temporary adjustment of a transit theodolite.
  • Measurement of horizontal angle by repetition and reiteration method.
  • Conducting Theodolite traversing of a given plot area.
  • Temporary adjustment of a dumpy level.
  • Determination of RL of five given points by taking staff reading with levels.
  • Determination of profile leveling along the given alignment for a road.
  • Locating contour points in the given area by direct and indirect method.
  • Setting out a site the center line and foundation width of a building from the given plan.
  • Setting out the foundation line for a culvert.
  • Determination of stadia constants.
  • Determination of horizontal distance an elevation with staff vertical by stadia method.
  • Setting out a simple circular curve by offsets from long chord.
  • Setting out a simple circular curve by offsets from the tangent.
  • Setting out a simple circular curve by Rankin’s method of tangent angle (Deflection angle).
Outcomes:
  • To give brief idea about role, necessity and importance of surveying in any Engg. Problem.
  • To equip them well with the basic instruments of surveying.
  • To give them through idea about reconnaissance surveying, road surveying, map preparation etc.
  • To enable them for setting out of curve for the purpose of roads and railways in the field.
  • To finding out the difference of level between various objects on the ground.
  • To make them competent with the contour map.
